Our step over platforms can be used on roofs or on the floor to go up and over large piping, parapets, or cable trays. They are suitable for use on a variety of surfaces including concrete, membrane, metallic and composite.
Standard step overs are designed to comply with industry standards such as the Work at Height Regulations, BS 5395: Part 3, BS EN: 14122 and BS 1139-6:2005.
The standard platforms are supplied flat packed with full assembly instructions to allow quick and easy installation. Bespoke options are also available to suit your specific project requirements.

A step over is for the obstruction you cannot move: a pipe run, a cable tray, ductwork, a kerb or upstand, a conveyor. Without one, people climb over it, which is how ankles and pipework get broken. A step over platform puts a set of treads up one side, a level deck across the top and treads down the other, with handrail the whole way.

For low pipework and cable trays there is a compact mini step over range. Where the obstruction is an odd shape, on a slope, or wider than a standard deck, we make step overs to your drawing from the same fittings.
Measure the height of the obstruction and the width across it, including any clearance you want above it. Pick the kit whose platform height clears the obstruction, and check the deck length covers the width. Choose freestanding where the surface must stay intact, which is most roofs, and fixed where the base can be bolted to concrete or steel. If the two sides are at different levels, or the obstruction sits on a pitch, send a sketch and we will size it.

Send the obstruction height and width, the surface it sits on and whether it is indoors or on a roof to our technical team and we will confirm the kit and point you to a stockist. Not with the freestanding STMB kits, which stand on the surface and leave it intact. The fixed STCR kits are for situations where bolting down to concrete or steel is acceptable.
